ACTIFERM

A microbial inoculant for changing the bacterial climate in stables and pastures.

In the stable:

To accelerate the fermentation process of the manure and diminish the smell of ammonia in the stable and box, apply the EM System as follows

  • Sprinkle 25-50 grams of Edasil clay minerals per m2/per day over the layer of straw in the stable.
  • Spray at least weekly a minimum amount of 100mls Actiferm (EM-Activated ) per m2 on the layer of straw.

Anyone with horses will know they are extremely sensitive animals. Perhaps this is the reason why they react so quickly and effectively to Effective Micro-organisms. Pleasant surroundings are important for a horse. This is why horse owners often spray the horse boxes thoroughly with an EM solution ( Actiferm diluted in water). The bedding, which is usually straw or sawdust, can be sprayed with Actiferm too,  so that the material and any ammonia present are bound together and the sensitive airways of the animals are not irritated. Unpleasant smells such as the urine of stallions are bound together when using these friendly bacteria improving the horses living space. In order to remove the smell thoroughly, Actiferm should be sprayed regularly.

Just as with the other mammals, the sustaining micro‑organisms should enter the stomach and the organs of the digestive tract of the horses. This can occur through the horses’ water or food. As rule of thumb: add three percent Syn-Vital bran to the fodder and also hang or lay one bag (approx. 500 gram) EM-X Ceramics pipes in the drinking water. Experience has shown that even small amounts of EM – when they are added regularly – not only reduce the severity of intestinal disorders such as diarrhoea, they also increase the animal’s resistance to disease.

When combined with external application, such as spraying the animal itself and spraying the stable, this often results in a fast improvement of skin and coat problems. Horses that constantly suffered from summer or winter eczema, were symptom-free following treatment with EM.

In addition, external wounds can be treated well with EM. We could repeat here that EM enables regenerative micro‑organisms to be activated in open skin areas so that pathogenic organisms do not have a chance there. EM can be helpful for open wounds, for example, in horses that often rub their skins. For this purpose, EM‑1 solution can be sprayed onto the wound and/or EM added to the drinking water. Even when the skin is severely damaged due to rubbing, spraying the wound daily with EM‑water will heal it and also encourage the growth of new skin.
